biography

Son of the gallerists Theobald and Franziska Sara Heinemann (born Schülein) Fritz was born and lived in Munich where in 1930 began to travel to deal with the business of his family. In the same year he also received his doctorate in art history and in March joined officially in the work the mother widow. After 1938 activities for Jewish enterprises were no longer possible, but 1936 Fritz had moved to Switzerland with his wife Sibylle Weiler (married in 1929) and the son Thomas (born 1931). Already in November 1930 Fritz had taken over the management of Galerie Hansen in Lucerne and later held the majority. From 1943 he was probably the sole shareholder despite Fritz still remaining a shareholder in the family gallery. Because of the debts contracted by the family, the gallery hansen bankruptcy was opened in April 1946 and completed in 1949.
